How long have I been making art? Well, let’s just say that “art chose me” at an early age (read all about it here.) First, as a performing artist dancing professionally in Houston, Texas. Now, as a visual artist creating collages with torn bits of paper.
My process begins when I paint and texture paper of all kinds to create my “palette.” At any given time I have over 1,000 sheets of painted paper in every hue. Papers will include sheet music, sandwich wrappers, dictionary pages, etc. Take a closer look at my work and you might find a technical drawing or a map hiding in plain sight.
My days are spent in my studio, working on homework for art class, making collages, and enjoying all the blessings I have. I spend my weekends making children smile as a professional face painter. Indeed, life is good.
